About Us

The Human Lens is a nonprofit, volunteer led news organization dedicated to covering underreported voices and sources, as well as aiming to make everyday news more accessible and less intimidating for everyday people.

More than just a news source, we engage in communities both local and abroad. We want to provide a stop where people can check in and see what’s happening in their neighbourhood as well as what volunteer opportunities there are so that they can get involved and give back in some way.

As all of us are volunteers and many of us are students, part of this grand vision is to provide a sort of medium for people studying global affairs and politics to not just see the world but get involved. This is for the student who stares at the news or a country on the globe, wishing they could turn what they hear in lectures and what they write down in their notes into something actionable, a start.

So, get some coffee, sit down with us, and join us as we work to make people more informed and communities stronger.
